JackASS's World: Energizer Night Race 2011

The content of this post is divided into two parts: First, My run. Second, The organizer.

My Run

My unofficial runtime for this event is 3:09'38". A poor time relative to PBIM 2010, and I'm kinda disappoint with my overall performance.

As you can see from the figure above, this race was held at Sepang International Circuit (SIC). Being run so well for the first outside loop, but walk so well for the two inside loops. The hard circuit condition and lack of water station inside the circuit were killing me softly.

The Organizer

This event has turned to be Energizer Nightmare Race 2011. If you wish to know why, let me summarize for you:

1. First, parking fee of RM10 with condition of park at your own risk. At the end of the event, few runners' car got broken in and lost their valuable items.
2. A long walk towards the starting point, including a long walk inside a tunnel where it was a chaos at the end of race.
3. Headlight distribution. It should be dished to each participants, not including their family members, and one headlight per participants, not two or three. Ended up ran out of stock and some participants got nothing, given an excuse that a problem from their supplier that ran out of stock during unloading, WTF?

4. Poor luggage handling. It seems everyone can assess to the luggage handling area and only two slow acting committees work on that division.
5. Poor start-finishing line. Aren't people should queued up for their own particular category race? But why so many others category runners blocking our way when we're rushing towards the starting point. Furthermore, there's no indication of how many loops to run inside the circuit for every category, Good Job Done?
6. Distance marker and water stations. This problem was faced while running inside the circuit, not for the outside loop. While running at the circuit, there's only one effective water station and another water station was mainly providing us, hope... Hope for water... Hope for medical aid... That particular water station only provide us ice, for what? Meanwhile, there's two distance marker that confusing us, "Last 2km to the finishing line" and "Last 1km to the finishing line", this should not appear inside the circuit where every runners in different categories are running on a same track, even so, the organizer should indicated properly that was meant to which lap? First, second, third, or how? Not to forget, no indication of how many rounds to run inside the circuit, just run as you like. (From an organizing committee)
7. No finishing medal, no finishing t-shirt. When I finished my run, I was wondered where is the point for collecting finisher's kit. Some said they are finish, some said they will courier to us. In the end, there's nothing and I heard there was a chaos happening before this and what a disappointment.

Overall, whatever that might possible to went wrong, Energizer Night Race 2011 probably has done them all. A poor organizing from Expose.com.my, that screwed us all up.
